Local shop stewards are the first point of contact for members who are experiencing
issues.

Local shop stewards are the first point of contact for members who are experiencing
issues. Shop stewards provide a vital link between the members and local management
and they are key to resolving workplace issues in an effective and timely manner.
Moving forward we want to ensure that you are aware of the following:
If a member reaches out to the RUO, NURs, or NVP directly without having accessed the
assistance of their local shop steward or elected officers, will be directed back to the
local.


Local representatives who require guidance on resolving a member’s issue or filing a potential
grievance or complaint, are encouraged to reach out to their District Coordinator and/or the National Vice-President, who can then received assistance from the Regional Union Office (by sending an e-mail to [email protected] with a brief description of the issue and the nature of the assistance required).
